Lovely Autumn Light

With the sun now getting lower in the sky, the light is getting better and better. I took a couple of pics I was pleased with last week, one pastoral and one in the village.

Our village church is, of course, called St Margaret's. It was opened in 1856 and enlarged in 1870. I think it's a rather fine building (but have never been inside!). Perhaps I should one day. It's higher up the village on – rather obviously – Church Road.

And here, just for fun, is Church Road one hundred and twenty years ago, with St Margaret's at the top of the hill. Not much has changed (although it seems the street name has). The horse and cart is standing where there was a grocery store (even when I came home here), but it has now become a café.
