A former island ferry, the Orcadia, was moored at the back of at our little port and looking sad for as long as I can remember.
The other day, she was suddenly moved to the front pier. I heard on the grapevine that a buyer had been found for her and she was going to be towed all the way to Greece.
This is supposedly going to happen today. So this morning William and I walked down to the port to take some farewell pics.
Here they are.
Here she is, closer up. The tug in the foreground will pull her out into Scapa Flow, where an even bigger tug will take over and pull her to Greece.
I love how messy ports are!

It was a beautifully windless morning, and the village looked rather special as we walked back. In fact, I think these were the nicest shots of the day:
