Great video, lovely music and all South Ronaldsay

A wonderful surprise this morning. All filmed and played in South Ron with Orkney verve and humour. I shall, of course, be buying the album! (from here)

Some great images of places I have, of course, photographed myself. E.g

St Peter's Kirk:

And this rather wonderful ruined cottage right by the sea. Its garden appears, mysteriously, to be semi cared for

@Stephen. I’m interested that you should wonder about the differences with film capture as I think the only difference is the fact that one now has a practically endless roll of film of any ASA/DIN speed [now called ISO] one wants on a per shot basis. With all my cameras before the Leica, I shot mainly in aperture priority, letting the camera set the rest. With the Leica, I have taken to focusing manually as well as I like the extra level of control (but am still having to relearn keeping my pinky away from the field of view - it has made its appearance in a number of shots but is easily cropped out). Processing software, particularly if on…

Oh, and I quite enjoyed the video too. Reminded me of the night we all went into Kirkwall together for supper and from there to the pub by St. Magnus for a pint and some good music!

St. Peter's is nicely framed by the two headlands; you have a great eye, Do you find yourself still following many of the same rules you applied to capturing with film? I think I do. Althought not for the same reason. Out of a roll of 36, you might get 2 or 3 that were saleable and you know how long rhat took to find them. Nowadays, you hear them clicking off hundreds! Can tou imagine how long it takes to pick your 3 best?

Thw ruins are forlorn. Is that a bee-hive kiln(or bake oven) facing the garden>

The Chair are pretty good. Am wondering if they are full-time musicians or whether music is something they do when not working.
